Cars & Business
Unless you have been through a
large car project before, getting involved in one
can be a seemingly overwhelming endeavor. There are
lots of opinions, options and unfortunately,
misinformation out there.
The truth of the matter is this:
it is a big
endeavor, and without the right help, it could
quickly evolve into a bad situation. Over the years,
we have unfortunately had many projects dragged to
us from other facilities after the initial attempt
at fixing or restoring it went south.
In many instances, this happens because most
businesses are not really skilled at this kind of
work, they are not set up to handle the amount of
research and parts procurement problems that are
inevitable, nor do they truly understand the amount
of effort required to actually project manage this
kind of highly specialized work.
All car businesses want to have a grand classic car
at their facility...few actually, really know what
to do with one once they've sold you through the
door.
The old advice still stands: you get what you pay
for. Nothing stands more true than if you are trying
to get a 40+-year-old used piece of machinery to
work like new again.
