Exotics
Rare, "one-off", prototype,
exotic and vintage racing cars are a special breed
of classic car. In many instances they are driven
hard, banged and bashed, and when new technology
comes along, stowed away and nearly forgotten. For
the obscure test, prototype or show vehicles, their
usually brief time in the spotlight seems almost
unbelievable given how coveted they are today.
These magnificent pieces of machinery exemplified
the artistry of car building - gathering together
the most talented designers of both large
manufacturers and garage mechanics - all set on one
goal - to build something better, faster, more
maneuverable and/or more stylish than anyone else
had built before.
From the Motoramas to the Salt Flats, Lemans to
Sebring, the International Auto Shows to the Hill
Climbs...and all manner of events around the globe -
these amazing vehicles captured the attention of
millions as individuals and manufacturers bet their
fortunes on a particular design's success.

Finding these cars is a feat unto itself. Restoring
them tests the finest restoration craftsmen. With
usually little or no references, manuals or
supporting information - perhaps no more than a
surviving photograph or two - reconstructing these
masterpieces takes a great deal of research,
patience and skill. Understanding the designers, the
era, the race - all become important. Hunting down
details, finding living drivers or builders and
learning from them - it all factors into restoring
these types of vehicles.
Creative Workshop has had the distinct pleasure of
restoring many of these unique cars. Our tenacity
and commitment to research has netted us remarkable
results with these truly special vehicles.
